Community Corner
Much of my time is spent working in our communities, doing my part to make a difference. This experience has allowed me to better understand the needs of our people and those who visit us and admire how lucky we are to call the US Virgin Islands home.
I am your candidate, Lawrence “Larry” Boschulte. Vote #4 on your ballot!
Respecting our Heritage
My family and I have deep roots in the Carenage community starting with early migrants who came from St. Barthelemy to St. Thomas looking for better work opportunities. Louis Joseph Theodore Boschulte donated the land for St. Anne Chapel which sits on Gallows Hill, blessed and dedicated in December, 1921 and celebrated 100 years of faith, history, and community in 2021. Furniture and other artifacts passed down through the generations has been on loan to the French Heritage Museum on St. Thomas. Today, you may still find us sailing, attending the annual Father’s Day festival or playing bingo in the community center.
The Carenage community (aka Frenchtown) has made numerous contributions to the Virgin Islands including agriculture, fishing, education, construction and building, politics and medicine. As your senator, I will continue to focus on implementing laws that maintain our heritage and protect the interest of our agriculture, fishing and aquaculture industries.
Creating a Platform for Us
Music, Sports and Recreation activities continue to be an important solution to helping us to continue to build community and leaders in industry. I reflect on my time in college where legendary heros like Julian “The Hawk” Jackson inspired me to excel at my university and was a big part of me returning home where I continue to create a platform for us to show how we have exceled in music, sports and industries throughout the world.
Congratulations Julian Jackson for your induction into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame!
Through my radio program, Just Us, my goal was to inspire the next generation by hosting guests that provide a background of their journey to greatness, just as I was inspired early in my career.
As your senator, I will continue to work with the senate to create legislation that honor those that pave the way and reflect the best of what the Virgin Islands have to offer.

Environment Stewards
Our US Virgin Islands is ranked amongst the best for air quality worldwide. As I provide guided tours and speak to locals and visitors alike, everyone agrees that we have to do more for our environment. We have already seen how a global phenomena directly affects us locally. The frequency and strength of our hurricanes continue to increase, our oceans are increasing in temperature affecting our marine life with coral bleaching and Sargassum (seaweed) at levels never seen before. Do you know that we produce 40% more trash per person than stateside. Why is that acceptable?
We need to do better and focus on taking care of the environment by advancing recycling research and development and teaching our children how to be good stewards of our environment.
I am committed to improving the laws and regulations that allows us to continue economic growth through improved technology to enable higher output with less pollution.
Transportation Community
The transportation industry was one of the industries greatly affected by the pandemic. Many were not able to keep up with membership fees and we need to do more to support those who are the face of the Virgin Islands to our visitors. Transportation drivers are ambassadors and can make the difference in the experience of our visitors and tourism product. We need to do more to support this community.
As a business owner in the transportation industry, I also understand and advocate for the disabled community. They should have the same exceptional experience we offer to our able bodied visitors and my business provides that service.
As your next Senator, I am committed to implementing laws that support sustainable growth in transportation for all visitors.

Giving Back to the Community
One of the values that have been passed on to me is the importance of having a voice, actively participating in the community and giving back. TeamLarry organized through a common value system of giving back. Over the years my team and I have contributed in numerous community activities. One of the most fun is the Christmas soup giveaway during the annual caroling in Emancipation Garden. We have been doing this for over five years and look forward to carolers continuing to join in the festivities in the years to come.
TeamLarry also participate in many local community organizations that provide assistance. Most notable are:
- Friends of the National Park
- Office of Gun Violence
- Community and Police Association (CAPA)
- Chess Club
- Salvage Life – Adaptive sports
Each of these organizations provide unique and valuable contributions to the Virgin Islands. I encourage you to find and actively participate in an organization or local non-profit that aligns with your passion. Do your part to enhance the community in which we live. The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands is a great resource that provides a list of 100+ nonprofits serving our community.
As your senator, I will continue to push for legislation that provide sufficient support to our grassroot efforts in the community.
Farming and agriculture is not just about food security. It can be very gratifying and establish life skills such as work ethics and perseverance at an early age.
